eVent fabrics get their unique properties from a proprietary and patented waterproof membrane. Its unique composition allows millions of tiny pores to breathe at their full potential.

Sweat vents directly to the outside of the fabric in one easy step. All eVent fabrics protect you from the wind.

Footwear made with eVent Waterproof fabric add another level of protection. Patented surface treatments and fabrication methods keep out water – even hard-driving rains - without blocking those millions of tiny pores that let the sweat out.

Activated carbon derived from coconut shells is superior to other materials because of its extreme hardness and extensive and uniform pore structure. No other activated carbon absorbs moisture better.

Activated carbon made from coconut shells undergoes Cocona's patented process and is then extruded into man-made fibre. We chose coconut activated carbon because it is a recycled, sustainable material.

1. LAST AND UPPER
The fit of a shoe begins with the form and design of the last. The last is a replica of the human foot, around which the upper is stretched to give the boot its internal shape. Research into design is fundamental because it determines the comfort of the fit and influences the end use of the product. Kayland has been taking feedback from male and female athletes and mountaineers for nearly 40 years to painstakingly develop its range of lasts to ensure an optimal combination of fit and performance for specific uses.

2. LACING SYSTEM
Kayland designs and manufactures ergonomic lacing systems, specific for each model, that guarantee optimal foot binding, while at the same time they form some bending points on the upper that accommodate the rhythm of walking.

3. MATERIALS

The choice of the best materials available in the market is fundamental. With the best leathers and raw materials our craftsmen can create superior footwear.
