I’ve tested multiple pairs of Hi-Tech footwear in the past and looked forward to giving their V-Lite Sandals a go. I suppose Ion Mask waterproofing has value here but certainly not as much for sandals as boots. The sandals are an interesting combination of synthetic and leather materials and nicely molded to comfortably accommodating the foot. But it’s downhill from there. The Velcro on the straps is too thick to fit well through the plastic buckles posing a problem when putting the sandals on or taking them off. In close examination after about a month’s wear, the glue intended to hold the V-Lites together isn’t. They are coming apart at the seams. Portions of the soles are also failing. I should have known when I felt a blister developing under one of the straps. I thought I’d find a piece of sand but it was actually a small ball of glue.
